To adjust to the size of your mug, increase or decrease the number of rows from row 43. Adjust the number of sts from rows 1 and 3 of the border according to the number of rows you made (if you made 50 rows, then rows 1 and 3 will have 49 sts each).

By the way, this is the first crochet pattern I’ve ever shared with someone, I’m so excited!! So, if you find errors or something is not clear enough, please do let me know and I will fix it.

Have a nice day!!!

  1. Thank you so much for this pattern. I made one as written and it’s way too big for all of my mugs. American mugs are bigger than Japanese mugs. But once I made the pattern, I immediately knew how to adjust it for size. Thank you for a really fun pattern.

  2. Great and easy to follow pattern. Super simple and the measurements came out perfectly for a majority of mugs in my cabinet. I actually really love the way the two loops hook onto the handle of the mug. So easy to attach. Thanks for this pattern.
